Office shifting begins at Mini Secretariat in Tamenglong

TAMENGLONG, Mar. 09: In what could be term as great achievement to the district administration under the BJP led government, the present district administration have tried to make use of abanboned Mini secretariat Tamenglong.

The deputy commissioner Tamenglong along with revenue department and DRDA Tamenglong on Tuesday have started shifting their office to Mini Secretariat complex at Farmlane, some 4km from district headquarter.

It may be mentioned here that Mini Secretariat Complex was constructed by Axial Builders Private Limited Tamenglong during the congress regime and inaugurated by the then Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in the presence of CM O Ibobi Singh, MPCC President Gaikhangam and Hill Area Vice Chairman Khangthuanang Panmei on 3rd November 2011.

After ten years of inauguration, the present district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong Armstrong Pame has finally started shifting in the Mini Secretariat complex Tamenglong.

Talking to media person, DC Tamenglong Armstrong Pame said that with the support from Chief Minister N Biren singh and Forest Minister Awangbow Newmai and also instruction from chief secretary, the office was finally shifted and fully functions here.

The decision to shift all government office to the present site was taken during CM visit and public meeting held at Mini Secretariat complex on 29 January 2021.

He informed that public that a bus service has been activated from today starting from Jadonang Park to Mini Secretariat site with Rs 20 at three terminals at 11 am, 1 pm and 3pm respectively.

He also informed that in the mini secretariat complex, there would be National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limmited PMU- Tamenglong.

DC Tamenglong also said that all shifting office would be completed and start function by the end of March and those department refuse to shift would be report to chief secretary for further action.

Tall and big dilapated buildings stood still. All building needs major repairing. Apart from broken of all window glass, it is pathetic to learn that most of the buildings roofs were leaking water.

In the meantime, one officer who dose not want to identify said that how can he repair the building from his own pocket with little salary he got. He is not willing to shift till major repairing is done.

“We cannot sit and work under leaking roof”, he added.
