Ministers inspected Duilum-Roi Mini Hydel Project at Poilwa village
Peren/Kohima, 19 Nov: Nagaland’s Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu and Advisor for Power Tovihoto Ayemi along with officials of power department today inspected the ongoing revival work of Duilum-Roi Mini Hydel Project at Poilwa village under Peren district.
The project stopped operating in August 2019 as the main channel was damaged by a massive landslide. Addressing the gathering at the project site, Kronu said that power and electricity forms the most important component of developmental activities. He said if we have good roads and power, other developmental activities can follow suit.
In this, Kronu informed that in order to give impetus to the activities of the power department, the State government has projected an amount of 1,115 Crore rupees to the 15th Finance Commission for various power projects in the state. On the department’s proposal for upgradation of the Mini Hydel Project at Duilum-Roi up to two Mega Watt, Kronu suggested for conduct of a proper feasibility survey report so as to take up the matter at the government level.
