All private hospitals to be reverted to non-COVID Hospitals in Dimapur
With the Covid positive cases and positivity rate of Dimapur district showing a declining trend, all private hospitals at Dimapur district would be reverted to non-Covid hospitals for the time being unless under un-avoidable situation. The decision was taken on 28th June 2021 at Hotel Saramati Dimapur, during a joint meeting of Private Doctors Association (PDA) Dimapur with State Nodal Officer Y. Kikheto Sema IAS and Team Dimapur comprising of Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo, IPS, CMO Dimapur team and DPRO Dimapur. However, Covid positive patients presently admitted in private hospitals would continue to be treated in the respective hospitals with no new Covid cases admission, the meeting resolved.
In the meeting, it was also decided that new Covid patients would be entertained by CISHR and District Hospital Dimapur, who will also be attending non-Covid cases too. Nodal officer, Y. Kikheto Sema, conveyed appreciation and gratitude to all the frontline workers, particularly the Private Doctors Association and Hospitals for their timely intervention in coming forward and rescuing the people of Nagaland.
Sema sought suggestions, expectations from DTF Dimapur and way forward from the private doctors for tacking the situation, should there be a 3rd wave.
Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, thanked the PDA for rising up to the occasion as one team on the request of the State Government and DTF Dimapur. Further, Soundararajan thanked the State Nodal officer for personally visiting every hospital and having one to one discussion and added that his presence gave extra boost of motivation and positivity. He observed that the collective effort bore fruit, sustaining to break the chain for a longer period of time. On the need for oxygen refilling plant raised by PDA, DC Dimapur informed that the district is already on the job with two more oxygen refilling plants coming up in Dimapur district which would be able to cater to the needs of the hospitals and keep spare for refilling.
Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, acknowledged the tireless and sincere efforts of both the private and government doctors and noted that their sincere efforts have brought the Covid situation under control. Tetseo further expressed gratitude to the State Nodal officer on behalf of the district for his leadership, sincere guidance and lauded his effort put for the district. He re-iterated that all would continue to work as a team during Covid or non-Covid situations. Brushing away people’s notion of Dimapur as a difficult district, Tetseo while tagging Dimapur as a mini city said, if we all work together as a team, Dimapur is a good city.
CMO Dimapur, also thanked the PDA and hospitals and encouraged them be mentally and physically prepared for the 3rd wave.
President, Private Doctors Association, Dr Victo, said that the private hospitals are willing to help the Government to vaccinate the people without charging, if the government provides the vaccines and other requirements. He also stressed on the need for separate place for isolating the doctors taking care of Covid cases.
Dr Clement from CISHR noted that the staff, specially the nurses at CISHR, were better prepared and in a better situation for taking care of Covid cases as all are working together with responsibility. He also felt the need for having more bottling plants for oxygen on priority for tacking the 3rd wave.
Doctors from Eden, CISHR, Faith, Zion, Nagaland Multi Speciality and others attended the meeting.
