Kawimaningsiliu is Miss Nagaland 2021

Kawimaningsiliu from Peren district is Miss Nagaland 2021. She is 21-year-old, was crowned with the coveted title during a glittering ceremony held at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA) on Monday night. She also won the sub-title ‘Queen of Hearts.’ The State level beauty contest was organised by the Beauty & Aesthethics Society of Nagaland (BASN).

Lika Chophy from Zunheboto district and Lovi Awomi from Dimapur district were crowned the first and second runners up, respectively.

The beauty pageant, which was earlier scheduled on December 10, was postponed as the contestants along with the organizers stood in solidarity with the Konyak community following the recent Mon killings.

A total of 12 contestants competed for the title of Miss Nagaland 2021. The contest was conducted after a gap of one year, following the outbreak of COVID-19 last year.

Miss Nagaland 2021 walked away with a cash prize of Rs 1 Lakh, besides becoming the brand ambassador of Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) and she will also receive an allowance for a year. The winner gets direct entry to Miss North East 2022, and will be the state icon for the Election Commission.

The first runners up and the second runners up each received Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000 prize, respectively, besides becoming their respective district icons. The first runners up also gets a direct entry to Miss North East 2022.
