4th Kebai-Khelma Area Tournament kicks off at Ikiesingram Village

Peren, 19th Jan:  4th Kebai-Khelma Area Open football and volley tournament commenced on 18th January 2021 at Ikiesingram Village under Peren District. The tournament will conclude on 20th January, 2021.

Iteigong Kauring, PS to Advisor Water Resources, Namri Nchang speaking on the inaugural function, as the Special Guest exhorted the participating teams on how one should value the spirit of oneness and togetherness stating that one can be more disciplined by being involved in various sports activities. Nothing can stop a person to be successful if an individual is determined to pursue dreams, he said and encouraged the youth and elders to work collectively while the Govt. of the day is doing its best to foster the youths particularly in the field of sports and others related sectors.

He also encouraged the gathering to be more realistic and identify the virtuous so that it will provide a safer and better platform and an environment for the people within the society in order to grow. Success is all about hard work and determination and asked the people not to be detrimental but be a responsible citizens to bring up the young talents by identifying them.

Focusing not only on games and sports, he called upon the people of the area to be the beacon setting exemplary deeds by peacefully co-existing as the area is inhabited by both the people from the Zeliang and Kuki brethens and march forward towards achievement.

Altogether 38 teams both men and women will be vying for the championship. The tournament is being organised by Ikiesingram Village Youth Club.
