UGC extended timelines for Online Applications for Scholarship

The University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India has extended Timelines for Online Applications for Scholarship had invited fresh applications (including renewals) from regular and full time students under the following four schemes for the Academic Year 2020- 2021:

(i) Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC); (ii) PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate (URH); (iii) Ishan Uday Special scheme for North Eastern Region (NER); (iv) PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ ST candidates.

The guidelines of each scheme may be accessed at ‘National Scholarship Portal.’ The students who were eligible and were admitted in the recognised institutions, as per the guidelines, may submit their applications through National Scholarship Portal on its website- https:// scholarships.gov.in/

The Portal was opened since 01.09.2020 and will be opened for receiving applications for ‘Fresh’ as well as ‘Renewals’ as per the following extended timelines:

Closing date for filing online applications by students 20th January 2021. Closing date for Verification of applications by Institutions of students including re-submission of defective applications 5th February 2021.

The students were advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions were able to verify applications within the prescribed timelines.

According notification issued by Secretary of UGC, Prof. Rajnish Jain vide F. No. 82- 32/ 2020 (SA-III) dated 31.12.2020 directed the eligible Institutions were also advised to verify applications of their students immediately after receiving the applications on Portal. It would be in the interest of students, it all the applications were verified by Institutions by 31st January 2021, so that they would be able to correct/ rectify the defected applications.
