UBS felicitates their HSLC topper

Tamenglong, June 20: The United Builder’s School Tamenglong (UBS) on Saturday felicitated their students who excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by the Board of Education Manipur (BOSEM).

The felicitation program was held at the Shekinuh Inn Tamenglong district headquarters. Town Baptist Church Tamenglong pastor reverend Dr Namsadai Kamei handed over the certificates and cash to the toppers. He read out the holy Bible, shared the gospel and prayed for the students.

The three toppers at the UBS are Donthuiliu Abonmai, daughter of Phenliangbou Abonmai securing 83.17 percentages with five subjects getting letter marks; Gaichaliu Kamson, daughter of Marcus kamson securing 78.83 percentages with three subject getting letter marks and another topper Samuel Newmai son of Kaisingamang Newmai securing 76.17 percentages with three subjects getting letter marks.

UBS Principal maj (Retd) G Kamei said that at least 73 students appeared from UBS in the HSLC examination this year. In all 73 students, 23 students passed in first division, 29 students in second division, 20 students were adjusted to appear in compartmental examination and one student was placed for external examination.

He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the students and parents for bringing laurels to the school. He also informed that UBS Tamenglong has 1456 students passing out since 1993 till date.

Among 1993 alumni, many got high profile government jobs, doctors, nurses and even some became pastors serving God and men. In the meantime, Tamenglong Higher secondary school drew blank in the HSLC examination this year, however Model village government high had 64 students appeared- only two students passed in first and third position. On the other hand, at private schools in Tamenglong like Christian Grammar School, 47 candidates cleared10 in first division, 22 in second division and a total of 32 candidates passed the examination.

In Don Bosco high school, 105 appeared while 24 passed in first divisions, 40 in second division and one in third division with a total of 65 candidates clearing the examination.

Pretty lamb Institute has 91 candidates appearing for the examination; 8 passed in first division, 34 passed in second division with a total of 42 students passing out this year.
