Tiranga rally across the state in Nagaland
Many schools in Dimapur and all other districts in Nagaland joint Flags for the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence in the state.
Even in the state capital, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Shanavas C handed over 52,000 Flags yesterday amid controversy over directive from the Government to hoist National Flag in every house. He said that 23000 flags would be given to the Rural Development where the District Officers will distribute to every household and villages, 19000 will be given to the Kohima Municipal Council with 1000 flag per wards, 5000 flags will be given to the Kohima Chamber Of Commerce and Industries for shops and establishments in Kohima, as well as Departments and offices will be distributed.
The Government forcing the people to hoist flag is also seen by some as a tactical political maneuver to undercut Nagas demand for a separate flag.
