Rain affected normal life in addition to COVID-19 pandemic in North East India
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that rain in peninsular and North East India will persist till October. Heavy and widespread rains continue in some part of North East India specially in the hilly region affecting normal life in addition to COVID-19 pandemic.
A bolero with 5 passengers washed away
A bolero with 5 passengers was washed away at Shukhovi, last evening due to flash flood. 3 occupants managed to escape in the incident. One body was found this morning and one is missing. The incident happened near the Assam rifle camp which is 9.8 km away from Dimapur Town.
State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) from Dimapur were pressed into action for search operations this morning but one body could not be recovered. Search operations will continue tomorrow provided the weather conditions improve. The lost person is a local. More details awaited.
