Nagaland will remain an integral part of Republic India

Governor R N Ravi unfurled the national flag and took the Rashtriya salute

Kohima, 26 Jan (DIPR): Nagaland along with the rest of the nation celebrated the country’s 72nd Republic Day today. Governor R N Ravi unfurled the national flag and took the Rashtriya salute from the marching contingents at the state level function held at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza in Kohima.

In his address, Ravi extended greetings to the people of the state and to the rest of the countrymen and paid rich tributes to the founding fathers whose sacrifices, blood and sweat created this great Republic. He said there is no doubt that Nagaland is and will remain an integral part of the Republic of India and added that any scheme to disintegrate this Republic will face the brunt of this great Nation. The Governor said Nagaland along with the rest of the country has been moving forward and contributing to the building of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Governor Ravi said Nagaland has faced the challenges of COVID-19 with remarkable resilience and confidence. He said, our frontline COVID warriors did excellent work in the collective fight against the pandemic and saving lives.

He said, the state has not seen any major eruption of law and order problem for some time. Ravi said, Government of India has taken several political initiatives for peace and progress from time to time. Governor Ravi said, in a time when India is rapidly progressing and changing dramatically, the state must make efforts and advance with the rest of the country.

Peren: 72nd Republic Day was celebrated at Deputy Commissioner Office Complex

Republic Day was celebrated at Deputy Commissioner Office Complex, Peren on 26th January, 2021 with Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam as the Special Guest.

The Special Guest on his arrival unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya Salute from the Parade Contingents. This was followed with Republic Day speech and march past.

The Parade Contingents comprising of DEF Peren, 9th IRB Saijang, All Saints Hr. Sec. School Peren and School Police Cadet, GHSS Jalukie participated in the march past.

Entertainment programme included folk song & dance by Jalukie Student’s Union Cultural Troupe, ethnic music by Leibung Nroai Maame (BBBP) and special number by winner of Peren, Voice Impact 2019, Kewizin.

To mark the occasion, earlier in the morning hoisting of National Flag was done in all Govt. Offices/Residences/Institutions. Meanwhile, in Jalukie, ADC, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang unfurled the National Flag.

The 72nd Republic Day celebration programme culminated with beating of retreat by District Executive Force (DEF) Peren.
