Construction of Rani Gaidinliu Museum at her native place demanded

TAMENGLONG, Aug. 24: The Village Authority Chairman Council (VACC) National Highway-37, Tousem Sub-Division Tamenglong District Manipur, has demanded to construct the museum of the prominent freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu (Ranima) at her native place in Tamenglong District.

In a statement issued by VACC, NH- 37 chairman Marukhamang Gangmei and its secretary T. John Gangmei said that Rani Gaidinliu had fearlessly fought against the British and refused to bowed down.

She continued to fought for her right and freedom of the country, her sacrifices and contribution to the country of freedom of struggle shall be remember and museum be establish at her native place as a memorial.

“We strongly disagreed and incurred the proposal of construction/building a Museum of prominent  tribal freedom fighter Rani Gaindinliu (Ranima ) at Makhan’ Sanapati District Manipur, with an hostile and frame of mind of esurient”, the statement added.

“The name of the Museum shall be inscribed as “Rani Gaidinliu freedom fighter Museum” and shall not compromise to any other name or style. The villages Authority Chairmen Council National Highway-37 shall not hesitate to protest in any form of agitation failing the demand to establish/construct the prominent freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu museum at her native place in Tamenglong District Manipur”, they stated.

VACC, NH- 37 appealed the Central government and government of Manipur and the concerned Department/ Authority to construct/build Manipur to construct the museum of Rani Gaidinliu (Ranima) at her native place in Tamenglong District as a memorial.
