Higher & Technical Education informs on enquiry committee

Kohima, 17th Oct.: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) in its representation addressed to the Chief Secretary, Nagaland, demanded for setting up of an Enquiry Committee to inquiry into the fund utilisation on the implementation of North East Quality Improvement Program (NEQIP) Scheme at Khelhoshe Polytechnic, Atoizu (KPA).

The matter has been considered by the State Government and it has been decided to constitute a 3 (Three) member Enquiry Committee headed by Kenilo Apon, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Water Resources Department as Chairman and Peter Lichimo, Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto and Lhoubeizoto, Audit Officer, Treasures & Accounts as Members. The Committee has to submit its report within a period of 3 (Three) months from the date of issue of the notification.

The Scheme was funded by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi for strengthening of institutions in terms of infrastructure, faculty competence and quality of teaching, research and consultancy, improve learning outcomes and employability of students.

The fund was received by the Institute in instalments during 2013-14 to 2015-16 of a total Rs, 3,71,60,000/- (In words, Three Crore Seventy One lac and Sixty Thousand) only, the amount being directly transferred to the beneficiary Institute.
