Nagaland extends state-wide lockdown till 30th of June

Kohima, 16th June 2021 (ANK): Nagaland Government has again extended the ongoing state-wide lockdown till 30th of June 2021. This is the fourth lockdown extension since May 14 this year. State Spokesperson and Advisor Mmhonlumo Kikon in a tweet informed that the High Powered Committee on COVID-19 in a meeting today has decided to extend the Lockdown till June 30.

Kikon said the situation is improving but the state is still facing difficulty. He also said positivity rate is declining but it needs to be below 5 percent while, more than 50 percent of the population need to be vaccinated. Kikon said respective District Task Force will work out the relaxation or restrictions required as per the local situation. The State Spokesperson further said it acknowledges the inconvenience faced by the people but given the circumstances the state have to continue with the lockdown for now.
