On Saturday the state registered 50 fresh COVID positive cases with four deaths from Dimapur . Nagaland has entered stage 2 of local transmission with the highest single-day spike of 90 cases on July 23, 2020 as per Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department.
Health department stated that they were yet to establish whether the deaths were related to COVID-19 as investigation was on. With this the state’s total tally rose to 1289– 744 active, 541 recovered and 4 deaths (under investigation).
Meanwhile, Health minister S. Pangnyu Phom also confirmed about the four deaths. He however, said that investigation was on and subject to further verification to establish the link with COVID-19.
Of the 50 cases, 20 were from Mon, Dimapur-19 , Kohima-7 and Mokokchung-4. Further, as per severity of symptoms of all positive cases, 740 were asymptomatic, 2 with mild symptoms, 1 moderate and 1 admitted to ICU on ventilator.
