Nagaland COVID-19 update 10th January 2021
Nagaland on Sunday reported three more cases of Covid-19 positive pushing the tally to 11,978. State Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet informed that Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung reported one case each.
Pangnyu said total recovery from the infection remained at 11,639 while the total active case increased to 115. Meanwhile, Health department said a total of 34 Thousand Seven contacts have been tracked by surveillance teams out of which 14, 637 are primary contacts. 50 per cent of the traced contacts are within the 21-40 years age group.
The department said a total of 1,420 positive cases are from household contacts while 1,146 cases are reported from officer goers. Positivity rate among household is highest at 29 per cent of the state total. Office goers constitute 23 per cent and students 19 per cent of the total positive case in the state. The department said positivity rate among people coming to flu-clinics without history of contact also continues to remain high at 14 per cent. Currently, Dimapur accounts for the highest active cases and is followed by Kohima and Mokokchung.
So far, 45 deaths have been reported from Dimapur, 21 from Kohima, 3 from Mokokchung, 2 from Mon and one each from Kiphire, Tuensang and Wokha. Health department has advised people to self-isolate and seek medical help if they have symptoms of chest pain, loss of taste, diarrhea, weakness, nasal congestion, headache, sore throat, loss of smell, body ache, breathlessness, cough and fever.
