Imposed daily night curfew till 31 Dec in Manipur

New SOP for Imphal Valley and district will issue notification in their respective district.

Imphal, 27th Nov: Manipur start imposing daily night curfew with immediate effect from 6 PM to 4 AM till December 31 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic which is spiraling out of hand, the state government has issued a new standard operating procedure (SOP) today.

Chief Secretary, Dr Rajesh Kumar, who is also Chairman, state executive committee of the State Disaster Management Authority on Friday issued the new SOP in concurrence with the guidelines for surveillance, containment and caution issued by the Chairman, National Executive committee on November 25, 2020.

According to the order, there will be daily night curfew from 6 pm to 4 am and District Magistrates will issue orders in this regard. Movement of essential services, goods trucks, and officials on dub/ shall be exempted.

Social and Customary ceremonies should be organised for family members only and in case some other persons are required to attend the ceremony/function the size of the gathering should be restricted to 20 or less persons strictly, the order stated.

The order also issued roster for opening of shops in Thangal and Paona Bazaars except the whole sale shops.

On every Monday and Thursday, shops dealing with Clothes, Shoes, Stationeries, sports, utensils, crockery, Electrical, Paint, mattress and carpets in Thangal bazar and those shops selling Luggage, Bags, stationeries, jewelry, cosmetic, photo, mattress and carpets in Paona bazar are allowed to open.

On every Tuesday and Friday, Thangal bazar shops selling furniture, Aluminum construction materials, plywood, utensils, electronics, computers, mobiles, weaving yarn and Paona bazar shops selling clothes (only eastern sides shops), weaving yarn, cycle, computer, glass, ply, mobile electronics, dry cleaners, furniture are allowed.

Shops in Thangal bazar dealing with hardware, sanitary fittings, tiles, marbles, motor parts, tyres, and batteries and that of Paona keithel selling clothes (only western side shops), shoes, sports, eye glass will be allowed to open on every Wednesday and Saturday. All shops will remain closed on Sundays.
