UBI Tamenglong merged to Punjab National Bank

Tamenglong, 3rd Jan: According to United Bank of India (UBI), Tamenglong branch, their branch merged with Punjab National Bank, Tamenglong branch. The merging process of the United Bank of India (UBI) to Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Tamenglong district headquarters was completed on Saturday.

Manager of PNB, Tamenglong branch, R Angkang informed that UBI customers can create their new user ID in the PNB App by putting ‘U’ in the beginning of the previous ID. The manager urged the customers to bear with the bank officials as they may face inconveniences with the new software which was given training through online due to COVID-19.

He said that the merging of UBI to PNB began on December 28, 2020. However, there was some inconvenience with the new software and so it got delayed in processing. The bank manager further said the account number remains the same whereas IFSC and MICR codes of the erstwhile United Bank of India have been changed.

Further, it said that United Bank of India, Tamenglong branch will not function anymore but Punjab National Bank, Tamenglong branch and the new IFSC code for Tamenglong Bazaar branch (171220) is PUNB0171220 and new MICR code is 795024508. For Tamenglong branch (065320), the new IFSC code is PUNB0065320 and new MICR code is 795024507.
