Senepati: Army chief of NSCN (IM) Anthony Ningkhan Shimray has categorically stated that Naga Flag and  Constitution (Yehzabo) which are an integral part of Indo-Naga peace talks is not only a demand but the right of every Naga. Integration is also the right of the Naga people, he added.

He made the statement during a one day discourse on the Indo-Naga peace process organised by All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) at Katomei, Senapati as the resource person.

The programme hosted by Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) was attended by leaders of Naga civil organizations  viz United Naga Council (UNC), Naga People’s Organization (NPO), Senapati, Naga Women’s Union (NWU) and its federating units, All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) and its federating units etc.

At the event, Shimray continued that the discourse is important to make every Naga, especially the youth aware of the peace process and Naga freedom movement.
He also said that he was elated to share the movement with the youth and share the spirit of Nationalism.

Saying that the movement of Naga is righteous, the army chief of NSCN (IM) asked all not to judge the ‘National’ workers for their shortcomings but focus on the cause. None can deny that Naga cause is right though some may claim it to be otherwise, the army chief maintained and sought cooperation from all Nagas to strengthen the Naga movement and achieve the  aspired goal.

“Integration, Flag and Constitution are not only a demand of the NSCN but they are the rights of every Naga,” he added. ANSAM president Wanglar Thiirtung and  general secretary AC Thotso also attended the programme.
