Tamenglong district is no longer “most backward” district
Tamenglong, 26th Jan: Tamenglong Deputy Commissioner Armstrong Pame appealed all to stop using “Tamenglong district is most backward district” during 72 Indian Republic Day celebration speech. He said that after seeing development projects taking up in the district, Tamenglong district is no longer “most backward” district.
The 72 Indian Republic Day celebration was celebrated at Haipou Jadonang Park Tamenglong district headquarter. Due to pandemic covid-19 the district administration Tamenglong could not organized in bigger program.
The Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong Armstrong Pame unfurl the tri-colours national flag and takes national salutes. At least 44 credentials awards were given out to those hard working government employees by the district administration Tamenglong.
Speaking as chief guest, the deputy commissioner Tamenglong Armstrong Pame informed that the Chief Minister of Manipur CM Biren and his cabinet ministers would be coming to Tamenglong on January 29 to stock the development projects in Tamenglong district. He appealed all to come and attend the meeting at mini secretariat complex Tamenglong at Farmland.
He also informed that Tamenglong – Tousem – halflong has been approved and e-tender of NHIDCL would be open on February 2. He said this road will travel 6-7 hours to reach Guwahati from Tamenglong. He said that when this is implemented the economy and lifestyle of Tamenglong would be change.
He also mentioned that with the people’s support and government Covid care centre Tamenglong is left vacant Now. Tamenglong district is highest rate of covid-19 positive in Manipur state as Tamenglong people has the highest to come out to test for covid-19.
He immensely thanked people of Tamenglong district far and near villages bringing fresh vegetables for covid-19 Centre starting from beginning till today.
He also expressed his sincere thanked to the government for giving him rare opportunity to speak in own language on Republic Day celebration for third times as chief guest.
Pame further informed that the district administration is planned to shift all government offices at the Mini Secretariat complex Tamenglong if the government and public support. He also said that the district administration is talking to the land owners for road extension.
He described Tamenglong DC Office as most awful in the whole of Manipur district.
