Covid vaccine manufacturing facility is safe and out of fire at Serum Institute

Fire breaks out at Serum Institute of India’s Pune plant today and five people have lost their lives in fire. The fire that broke out at a facility of Serum Institute in Pune on Thursday, 21st January, 2021.

Report from times of India said that “the institute’s Covid vaccine manufacturing facility is safe and out of fire ambit. It is the Rotavirus vaccine manufacturing facility which caught the fire” from Adar Poonawalla, owner and chief executive officer of the SI.

According to news sources, it was reported that only five people were inside the building, but it turned out that at least 11 people were inside the facility. A total of 15 fire tenders were rushed to the site to douse the fire. The site where the fire broke out, is an under-construction building at Serum Institute of India.
