Naga seed sowing festival “Lui-Ngai-Ni” celebrates in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, Feb. 15: Naga seed sowing festival “Lui-Ngai-Ni” was widely celebrated in Indoor stadium Tamenglong district headquarter organised by joint tribe councils of Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei and Zeme.

Forest, Environment & Seri. Minister Awangbow Newmai, Tamenglong ADC Chairman Namsinrei Panmei, Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong Armstrong Pame, Zeliangrong Union Former President Dm. Nganthonang attended as chief guest, guest of honour, chief host and High Priest of the unique festival of Nagas.

Speaking as chief guest, Forest and Environment Minister Awangbow Newmei urged all to sow seeds of love, peace and honour among Zeliangrong brothers and while celebrating Naga seed sowing festival Lui-Ngai-ni.

Traditional dances, traditional fire making, folk song singing with flute were show case during the program. New seeds were distributed to four tribes councils by the high priest Dm Nganthonang.

Prizes were also given to winners of Lui-Ngai-ni marathon for both male and female.

Tamenglong ADC members, SDO Tousem Paul Mating, ADM Tamenglong Kajaigai Gangmei, former leaders of various organizations attended the program.
