Animal awareness camp at Mhainamtsi

Animal health camp-cum-awareness programme held on Sept 7, 2020 at Women Society Hall, Mhainamtsi on African swine fever (ASF). The programme was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Peren, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Jalukie, for Mhainamtsi Piggery group.

On the occasion, Dr. L. Babita Devi, head in-charge Krishi Vigyan Kendra Peren gave awareness lecture about African swine fever and the bio security measures to be adopted by the farmers for prevention of the disease. Discussion on health care and management of pigs was also done.

As part of the programme, face mask, disinfectant, mineral mixture, deworming drugs, antibiotics and other medicines and advisory about the disease were distributed to the participants.

Similar programme was also conducted at New Chalkot, Poilwa, Deukwaram and Punglwa B, during May to August 2020 by maintaining the lockdown protocol and social distancing, benefiting a total of 130 farmers.
