Shifting of Rani Gaidinliu’s Museum

Imphal, Nov 5: Demand for shifting of proposed “Rani Gaidinliu Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museum” at Makhel village, Senapati district to Rani Gaidinliu’s native places either in Tamenglong or Noney district by Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation (RNYO) is imposing a bandh on National Highway 37, State Highways and all National projects within Rongmei inhabited areas.

According to IFP source, RNYO bandh will state from 6 am of November 9 until the State Government shift the proposed tribal freedom fighters’ museum of Rani Gaidinliu as approved by the Central Government to Tamenglong or Noney district.

It further said that the organisation had submitted a memorandum regarding its demands to Chief Minister N Biren Singh on September 22 and gave the Government 15 days with effect from October 18 to act on the matter. However, the state Government take no action after 15 days passed, the organisation is compelled to launch the stir.

It also appealed all its federating units, clubs and organisations concerned to support the proposed stir.
