Dimapur Total Lockdown

Eight days total lockdown at Dimapur comes into force

Dimapur, 26 July: The eight day total lockdown enforced by Dimapur District Task Force to contain the spread of Covid-19 began today in Dimapur. The streets wore a deserted look as vehicular movements and pedestrians remained off the road while business establishments downed their shutters. However, few pharmacies were opened in certain locality to cater to the needs of the people for emergency. Security and traffic personnel were stationed at all strategic locations. Barricades were also put up at all major road junctions to restrict entry and exit of vehicles. However, Government offices, banks and medical clinics which are exempted from the purview of the lockdown remained closed as today being a Sunday.
