Notification on the prohibition of transport vehicles on NH from Dimapur to Kohima to Mao Gate

In the interest of public safety and convenience, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the State Transport Department has notified on the prohibition of movement of any transport vehicles beyond three-axle, including semi-tractor articulated trailers which is also three axle vehicle but whose carrying capacity is 30.5 tonnes or more, along the National Highway stretch from Dimapur to Kohima to Mao Gate for the period from 18.07.2022 to 11.08.2022. Further, prohibition of upward journey of the above cited vehicles will not be permitted from Dimapur with effect from 15-07-2022 midnight.

The Motor Vehicles Department in co-ordination with the concerned District Administration and the Police Department shall enforce strict implementation and shall cause appropriate traffic signs to be placed or erected under Section 116 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 at suitable places.
