Notification on African Swine Fever infected Zone in Kohima district

DIPR, Kohima: In pursuant to the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) in various locations in Kohima district, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C IAS has notified the following areas as Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones.

Infected Zone – Viswema and 1 km radius and Surveillance Zone: Jakhama, Khuzama, Kigwema, Kidima, Kezoma, Phesama, Pfuchama, Mima, and Mitelephe.

Infected Zone – Dzülekie and 1 km radius and Surveillance Zone – Khonoma.

Infected Zone – Dzürüzu near KMC Dumping Site (New Meriema) and 1 km radius and Surveillance Zone: Meriema, Old and New Tsiesema, High School Area Kohima.

The order also stated that the following restrictions – Ban on the slaughter of pigs, Ban on import and export of pigs and piglets, and Ban on transportation of pigs and pork have to be strictly adhered to in the aforementioned locations until further notice.
