Traffic regulations within Dimapur Town and National Highway-29

Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo has notified on odd-even traffic regulations for non-essential vehicular movement within Dimapur Town and National Highway-29 till Chumukedima town with effect from 5th to 31st October.

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday only vehicle with registration number ending with odd numbers will be allowed to ply.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers will be allowed to ply.

However, the restriction will not be enforced on Sundays. Categories under essential services as notified earlier, government servants on bonafide government duties, vehicles involved in providing essential services involved in COVID-19 related duties on production of relevant documents with valid ID proof and two wheelers shall be exempted from these traffic restrictions.

Further, all heavy vehicles except those engaged in four lane construction work with valid permit will be restricted from plying within the town area and highway area from 09 hours to 15 hours. Violators will be punished as per relevant sections of the law. The Commissioner also appealed all citizens for cooperation in the interest of public safety.
