Zeliangrong Apex body clarifies on agree position published by WC-NNPGs

The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) all all its affiliated frontal organization of Zeliangrong today clarified that the recent endorsement of Agreed Position by Zeliangrong (AMN) CSOs at the recent consultative meeting with WC-NNPGs does not carry or represent the voice of Zeliangrong people which appeared in some local papers on 8th of June 2022.

It said that some of our Zeliangrong CSOs who attended the consultative meeting was assumed to have endorsed and supported the Working Committee of NNPG Agreed Position as reflected in media, a joint press release issued by Akhang Kamei, president, ZB (AMN), CR Zeliang, president, ZB (N) and Pauheu, president, ZB (AM) stated.

The Baudi clarified that the Zeliangrong people, since the inception of Indo-Naga political talks, neither endorse, support nor subscribe to any particular party or faction till date. It is our constant view that unity and collective effort of all Nagas is prerogative to finding pragmatic Naga solution, it said and reiterated its stand of its people support for early and inclusive settlement of the protracted Naga political issue while keeping alongside the Zeliangrong political aspiration and movement intact.

The supposed endorsement and support of Zeliangrong to Agreed Position and its subsequent status paper as reflected contradicts the political outlook of the Zeliangrong people, it aid.

It further said the Central Executive Council of Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) neither discussed nor authorized any of its frontal organizations on the issues.

The Baudi cautioned Zeliangrong individuals/or CSOs to refrain from making/ giving any undue press statement that could confuse, disturb or create undesirable implication at this stage when the progress of Indo-Naga political talk is at its crucial momentum for final settlement.

The Zeliangrong Baudi further clarified that members, participants of Zeliangrong CSOs at the said consultative meeting of NNPGs were not officially commissioned to represent the people nor do they carry the voice of the Zeliangrong people on the Naga political issues. Therefore, the press statement is devoid of any implied or deducted meaning, it added.
