Workshop for media persons on COVID-19 Vaccine held at CHC Jalukie

Workshop for media persons on COVID-19 vaccine was held at CHC Jalukie on 25th January, 2021 which was organized by Medical Department from Peren District.

CMO Office Peren Media Officer, Celine Sechü as the Resource person. She stated that COVID-19 Vaccine is a safe and effective which boosts our immunity and it will be available in a phased manner. Celine added, an individual will receive 2 doses each and there will be a gap of 28 days between the two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

Celine highlighted the three main objectives of COVID-19 vaccination drives wherein she mentioned that due to lack of proper information, the public are very much hesitant to receive the vaccine. In order to eradicate hesitancy, media should educate the public even in the grassroot level with limited & right messages about the new vaccine and its processes, she stated.

She also spoke on vaccine eagerness and COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB where she said that currently there is eagerness among the public on the vaccine and for receiving it and hence it is the responsibility of the media persons to disseminate transparent or appropriate information to the general public and the prioritized groups about availability, safety and timeline of the vaccine.

Discussion in regard to communication and mobilization plan for the effective implementation and awareness in the district was also held.

The programme was attended by IEC Staff and DPRO Peren.
