Two bridges were inaugurated under Dimapur district by Dy. CM Y. Patton

Dimapur, 21 Dec: Dimapur district today inaugurated two bridge by Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton. The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues and Advisors while inaugurating RCC Girder Bridge over the Chathe River at Diphupar and Dhansari River at Nagarjan.

Patton who is also in-charge of Home and Roads and Bridges said the bridges will benefit and ease the plight of the commuters who have been patient throughout these years. He expressed appreciation to the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for sanctioning additional funds to ensure that the bridges become functional before Christmas.

Patton also thanked the legislators of Dimapur district, the contractor and surrounding villages, area leaders, for their constant help and support thereby allowing the Government to inaugurate the bridges for the welfare of the people.

Patton also announced that sarting from today commuters will be allowed to commute in the Ballijan Bridge though not officially inaugurated. The construction of both the RCC Girder Bridges was sanctioned by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways during July 2015 with sanctioned amount of 37.66 crore rupees for Chathe river bridge and 37.95 crore rupees over Dhansiri bridge.
