Rio inaugurates public recreational center in Dimapur

Dimapur, 22 Jan: One of the most leisure spot Green Park in Dimapur has now converted into a public recreational center adding more facilities. The center was inaugurated on Thursday by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at State Horticulture Nursery Dimapur.

In an inaugural speech, Rio said that the park should not only be confined to department alone, but opens to the general public also for recreational, jogging and other activities. Rio also said that he had already planned to have public parks, one in Dimapur and other in Chumoukedima.

Further, Chief Minister added that three more places in Kohima located at Old Zoo Ministers Hill, Nagaland University campus at Meriema and Fishery complex at Thizama has also been identified for setting up of recreational park for public utility.

Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mathung appealed to the neighbouring colonies and villages to protect the park as it belongs to all, saying that it has a lot of scope for revenue generation and employment.
