Manipur has 23 active case with 5 new case confirmed

Total number of positive case in Manipur increase to 25 with 11 new case confirmed this afternoon. Out of 90 individuals tested today at VRDL, JNIMS, 9 of them stranded from Chennai, 1 from Delhi and 1 from Guwahati were positive. Manipur now has 23 active case with 2 cured/ discharged.

Meanwhile like on Tuesday, a special train from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh ferrying stranded residents of Manipur due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic reached Jiribam Railway Station at 8:14 am on Wednesday.

At the Jiribam railway station, all the returnees travelling in the special train from Vijayawada were screened by the authorities, DIPR sources said. The returnees boarded the buses after undergoing necessary screening process and other mandatory procedures under the supervision of the Jiribam district administration.

The returnees will remain in isolation at the community quarantine centres for 14 days, it added.
