BJP Tamenglong reaffirms

TAMENGLONG, Jun. 22: District Committee Bharatiya Janata Party and Tamenglong Mandal have reaffirmed to uphold the principles of the party even if MLA of Tamenglong (ST) assembly constituencies resigned from the primary membership of the party on his own accord.

A joint statement issued by district president BJP, District Committee Tamenglong Phungan Phaomei and president Tamenglong Mandal Saul Kamei stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party of District Committee and Tamenglong Mandal had a joint ‘Special and Crucial Executive Meeting’ with its Presidents on June 18 at the district committee office, Tamenglong headquarters on the prevailing political development of the state.
The meeting, after a threadbare discussion, resolved to strengthen the ideologies of the party with full commitment in the future even if the MLA of Tamenglong (ST) assembly constituency resigned from primary membership of the Party on his own accord and volition, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the District Concern Development Association (DCDA) Tamenglong in a statement stated that with the voluntary resignation tendered former MLA Samuel Jendai from the BJP MLA and the acceptance of his resignation by the speaker, the seat of the Tamenglong MLA is lying vacant, thereby creating a gap between people of Tamenglong and the state government.

“We are now being rendered orphaned while we are troubled beyond measures under the COVID-19 attack coupled with the worsening food scarcity during these rainy days,” said information publicity secretary, DCDA, Tamenglong and Longmai district. However, he urged the people of Tamenglong to have big hearts, be steadfast and courageous.

“We will sail the boat through with or without MLA at this time of test and trial,” said information publicity secretary, DCDA, Tamenglong and Longmai district.
