16 family members of health staff tested covid-19 positive, OPD closed in Tamenglong

TAMENGLONG, Sept. 27: After local transmission of coronavirus in Tamenglong district headquarter, highest number of positive cases detection was recorded on Sunday in Tamenglong.

16 family members including two months baby old of a health staff tested positive for covid-19 today. The whole area of the health worker is likely to be declare as containment zone.

Another health staff also tested positive today. After local transmission have begun in Tamenglong health staffs are detecting covid-19 positive one after another.

In the meantime following the detection of covid-19 from health staff who are on duty at district hospital Duigailong Tamenglong and for containment measures, hospital OPD and IPD and immunization cell shall remain close for 48 hours with immediate effect.

This was disclosed by Chief Medical Officer Tamenglong through notification. In the notification he also informed that emergency, casualty and Flu Clinic at district hospital will be opened.

He also urged all visitors to strictly prohibited in and outside the hospital complex.

With the detection of 17 positive cases today covid-19 positive cases have been surged to 392 in Tamenglong district. Where 336 positive cases has been recovered and 56 are remaining active cases.

In Noney district total lockdown has began from afternoon at Longmai bazaar today by the Longmai Bazar Board. The total shutdown will be enforced till the contact tracing activity and containment measures is over.

The total shutdown was imposed in view of Manipur Rural Bank staffs, Noney Branch and one staff of Manipur Development Financial Investment, Noney branch have been tested positive for COVID-19 at Babina Testing Centre, Imphal.

In the Chief Medical Officer, Noney Dr. Edwin Golmei has appealed to all the staffs of M.R.B., Noney branch and any individual who have visited the bank from 22nd Sept.to 25th Sept. 2020 to report and get tested at Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School Testing Centre,Noney immediately and advise to wear mask and follow SOP strictly.
