Manipur COVID-19 Updates : 23rd May 2021

Manipur reported 767 new cases as the highest single day spike. The 767 cases were found positive for COVID-19 when testing a total of 3,609 samples. This implies that as many as 21.25 percent of the total people tested have been found infected.

Imphal West district reported the most cases with 320 new infections followed by Imphal East (182), Churachandpur (71), Thoubal (50), Kakching (44), Bishnupur (38), Ukhrul (17),  Senapati (13), Tamenglong (9), Kangpokpi (9), Jiribam (5), Chandel (4), Kamjong (3) and Noney (2). 767 new cases, all from the general population, include 398 males and 369 females. They tested positive for COVID-19 at testing facilities opened at private hospitals (309), District Hospitals (273), RIMS (94) and JNIMS (91).
