Manipur on Friday registered 109 fresh case in the last 24 hours. The Works Minister Thongam Biswajit has been tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, the second Cabinet Minister who tested positive after Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen. According to Sangai Express, 8 people who detected positive apart from Biswajit were his two daughters, two security escorts and four staff which tested at JNIMS yesterday.

The fresh positive cases were from Imphal West (59), Kakching (3), Teng-noupal (2), Chandel (1), Imphal East (15), Chura-chandpur (4), Bishnu-pur (2), Thoubal (12), Ukhrul (2) and Kangpokpi (1) where 98 have no travel history outside the State except three returnees from Churachandpur-2 and Chandel-1.

As of 11th Sept. 2020, the states’ tally rose to 7,579 confirmed case with 1,533 active cases, 6,002 cured/ discharged and 44 deaths.
