Challenges - When The Nation of Israel Was Born
Fulfillment of God's Blessing : God's unchanging promise and blessing - " Be fruitful and fill the earth " recorded in the book of Genesis: Adam ( 1:28), Noah ( 9:1) , Abraham ( 12:2,6), Isaac ( 26:4) and Jacob ( 26:14;35:11) was fulfilled after the death of Joseph and his brothers " The Israelites were fruitful and multiplied greatly and became exceedingly numerous.." ✒ Exodus 1:6-7 . A small group of 70 people began to multiply , and when the Israelites left Egypt their numbers were over 6,00, 000 men , besides women and children ✒ Exodus 12:37; 38:26 BEAR FRUITFUL
Fruitfulness Begets Envy and Oppression : ✔ A new king reign who sees the Israelites as aliens not as benefactors and considered them as a potential threat to Egyptian national security ( v 8-10) . ✔ So he had devised an oppressive strategy by appointing slave masters to oppress the Israelites with physical labour ( v 11-14) ✔ He instructed the Hebrew midwives to murder every Hebrew boy child and allow only girls to live ( v 15-16)
God's Instruments in Delivering His People : ✅The midwives Shiphrah and Puah got the king's order " to kill all Hebrew boy child " but they disobeyed the king because Shiphrah and Puah feared the King of kings- the God of Abraham, the God of Israel and the God of Jacob ( v 17-18). FEAR GOD ✅When the king summoned Shiphrah and Puah and asked them, " Why have you let the boys live " , they responded , "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women .." ( v 18-19) . It was the most daring answer given to the Egyptian King . What a testimony !! .. What a reality !!. A Wake up call for us to be different from the people of this world in the place where we are based at. BE LIGHT & SALT ✅ God protected the midwives and rewarded them ( v 21-22). Thus , Shiphrah and Puah were a part of the Salvation History.
Beloved , Jesus said , " we are in the world but not of the world ". Let us reconsider our ways and live a life worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

✝ Because the midwives feared God, he gave them families
Exodus 1:21 This verse reveals that God can use anybody to fulfill his plan in this world.
God protected his people by the same hands, by which Pharaoh wanted to annihilate them. Why did the midwives dared to do this risky act? They feared God rather than the orders of Pharaoh. When we fear God, all other phobias will flee.
Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego feared the God of Israel and dared not to worship the idols in Babylon.
Nehemiah feared God so that he rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem in 50 days, despite the oppositions he faced.
The woman who had the issue of blood dared to break the traditions and touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was healed.
The Canaanite woman dared to withstand the ridicules to secure the healing of her daughter:
All of them feared God- in other words, trusted the Almighty God -to do these daring acts.
Dear friends, Dare you to stand up for the Lord despite the situations? - Let this Bible reading program enable you for that.

Laver & Serving Women
There are several chapters in the Bible that mention about the involvement of men in the ministry of the making of the Tabernacle. Amidst men we read about certain Serving Women who were also involved in serving at the Tabernacle of Meeting.
He made the laver of bronze and its base of bronze, from the bronze mirrors of the serving women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting (Ex 38:8).
This verse mentions about the laver and the serving women. It is beneficial to take a deeper look at the Laver of Bronze and the Serving Women.
Laver is a basin that stood in the outer court of the Tabernacle. The laver consisted of two parts the bowl and the pedestal or foot. The original laver was made from brass that was contributed by the Hebrew serving women.
The laver contained water that the priests used to wash their hands and feet when they entered the Tabernacle. During those days there was no glass mirror in usage. Women had bronze polished so brightly that they used it to as a mirror to see their image.
The bronze laver stood in the court between the altar and the door of the Tabernacle (Ex 30:19, 21). The bronze was finely polished, and it shone so much that one can probably see his image in it. The priests after washing checked their face in the mirror to identify any spots.
The Bible says that the word of God is like a mirror. As we read it, we can see our own reflection in it. We need to compare our lives with the what the word of God says. And confess our shortcomings and sins and be cleansed by His blood.
Regarding the serving women, Aben Ezra, a Jewish commentator said that women came daily to the Tabernacle to pray and hear the words of the Law. These women were eminent and exemplary for their devotion to God and His word.
The women of those days used brightly polished bronze as mirror to look at themselves. These women gave their precious bronze mirrors as a free-will offering for the making of the laver in the Tabernacle. They were much concerned about God and His work more than their external appearance.
Later we read about these serving women in two more instances in the Bible (1 Sam 2:22; Lk 2:36, 37).
God uses women in His ministry. They have a role to play in building His kingdom. God sees our Availability and not at our Ability. When we consecrate ourselves to Him, He uses us to fulfil His Plan and Purpose for us, in us and through us.
