Villagers donate Covid-19 relief in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, May 22: As part of the fighting against the dreadful disease of COVID-19 more and more individuals and villages even far flung villages had come forward to donates fresh vegetables and firewood for quarantine centres in Tamenglong district headquarters.

Tousem village, Bhalok and Kahulong village came on Thursday hands over to the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong Armstrong Pame by respective villagers for use in quarantine centre at district headquarters.

It is worth mentioned here that there are 13 community quarantine centre in Tamenglong district including three in Tousem sub- Division and two in Tamei headquarters.

As many as 495 people are staying in the 13 community quarantine centres and out of which 253 are male and 175 are female including two infants.

In the meantime, One Stop Centre Tamenglong under District administration Tamenglong has distributed sanitary napkins to returnees who are staying at Tamenglong Head quarter quarantine centre including United Build’s School, Don Bosco KG school & Don Bosco high school, Pretty Lamb Institute, Christian Model English Higher Secondary school, Tamenglong Higher secondary and Model village high school.

On the other hand 52-Tamei MLA Awangbou Newmei during his visits to all community quarantine centres in Tamenglong district has donated a sum of Rs.20000 for Pretty Lamb Institute, Rs. 15000 for Tamenglong Higher Secondary School, Don Bosco (JR)  Rs.5000, United Builders school Rs. 10000, Don Bosco Rs. 20000, CMES Rs 15000 and Rs.5000 for Model Village High.

He also encouraged and he wish all the members in the quarantine centres to properly maintain the protocol laid down for them and safe themselves and all others including their family.
