Our reactions and actions in times of Covid-19

🧬🧬🧬🧬
This is a testing time for all of us as a Christian. Have you ever pondered why this pandemic? As I looked into the current situation, I weight myself in the scale where King Belshazzar was weighed. Belshazzar was weighed in balances and found wanting. He was found wanting for doing something which God hates, but today we Christian ✝ were found wanting for not doing what God wants.

🦠🦠Covid -19 has in advance separated the sheep and the goat, the wheat and the weed of Christianity. In Jesus time Leprosy was a curse and a person who suffered from it was labeled a social outcast. The lepers were stigmatized as in our case with 🦠covid-19. We have learnt many times in the church that our loving Savior Jesus was so compassionate on those who were excluded and outcast from the society. Mother Teresa and many other Christian had lived the life of Christ. What about you and me?

Let me get straight- (Experienced from the works of LCTC in the capacity of a (Convener)

🧲 We have successfully built the culture of stigmatization in our community.
🧲 We are more concern of our safety than the safety of others.
🧲 Many have suffered much due to this stigmatization in the metros and more in the hands of our own people, worst came from family members not willing to accept them.
🧲 I remember my own student who was barely ten years has to walk with his parents from Kanglatongbi to his Village (two days journey) facing social stigmatization from own Christian brethren.
🧲 I remember a family who own a vehicle but not willing to pick their own son but wanting us to pick.
🧲 I remember our LCTC drivers being stigmatized by our own people. Threatening him to stay indoors.
🧲 I remember relatives who doesn’t want to give service to his/her own relatives because he is sick and came from outside.
🧲 I also remember the first two Covid victims of Manipur who have lost their precious lives while demanding right to live from their dying bed – demanding attendant and oxygen.
🧲 Now the so called frontal workers have gone rear workers – to be precise working from backend office not directly facing the client. Hospital OPD partially closed/ totally closed. Private practitioners have totally pulled down their shutters.
🧲 Village administration, Community helpers- drivers, policemen, doctors, nurse, paramedics, and local politicians are indoors now, not willing to risk working outside. Something like-maintaining low key profile for now.
🧲 Today many people have lost their lives due to stigmatization, rather than the disease that forms the basis for the stigma.
🧲 LCTC has been receiving unlimited calls for vehicle arrangement for patients or stranded since most of our people who own private or commercial vehicles refuses to rent/lend their vehicles for the Good Samaritan works fearing the pandemic.
🧲 We also received various medicals related calls like doctor’s appointment and hospitals.
🧲 Everyone is indoors now trying to save their own lives, not willing to come out and help anyone in need.

Message: The unlearnt Lessons from our savior –

No 1. Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. Luke 17:33 (If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it)
No 2. – The Story of the Good Samaritan – Both the priest and the Levite avoided the dying man.

Encouragement –

💊 Brethren, Let us not be discouraged in the presence of this disease. Let’s keep fighting this pandemic for our people, family and the brethren, let us clung to the Lord’s promises. We must remember that God’s presence gives us courage, as He tells us, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isa. 41:10, NKJV).

💊 We are facing these struggles and difficult trials, and more challenging situations will come, but Jesus is alive. He is our refuge and strength, and even if we go through the valley of the shadow of death, we should not be afraid, because His staff and rod will comfort us (Ps. 23). Our final victory is from the Lord; let us trust in Him

💊 Cautions: We should avoid acting eccentric, or as scaremongers, or panicked; on the contrary, we must be positive as we share hope with those around us.

💊 My dear people our savior needs you and me now. Come out! Let’s work together like a real Christian warrior.
For me gain is not godliness but godliness is gain.
